Leah, the creative force behind Writing with Light Photography, brings over 20 years of experience in portrait photography. With a degree in Visual Communication focusing on Photography and Digital Imaging, she is a trained industry educator with expertise in posing, lighting, and guiding clients through the photography process. Leah's true passion lies in connecting with you and especially in capturing the adorable essence of newborns.

About Bec

Bec has been an invaluable part of our team for over six years. Known as the chief baby head holder, bottom patter, and session shuffler, Bec plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of your baby during sessions. Her dedication and extra set of hands allow us to focus on creating beautiful, memorable images with extra attention to detail and safety.

Why I Love Photography

Photography is more than a profession for me; it's a profound passion and a way to preserve the beauty of life's fleeting moments. This love for photography grew from my desire to connect with people and tell their stories through images.

Witnessing a mother's heartbreak at losing her baby and experiencing the loss of my own grandmother just days after my niece's birth profoundly shaped my perspective. These life experiences underscored the importance of capturing and safeguarding every precious moment. They fueled my commitment to ensure that families have tangible memories to cherish forever.

My academic background in Visual Communication equipped me with the technical skills and artistic vision needed in this field. But the true essence of my work goes beyond technique; it's about connecting with clients and capturing their genuine, candid moments. The smiles, laughter, and sometimes tears that my photographs evoke are incredibly fulfilling.

Working with newborns holds a special place in my heart. Their innocence and the unconditional love that surrounds them are inspiring. Each session is a delicate art requiring patience and gentleness.
